Celebrating our bond with Mother Earth 

The months of July, August and September is our ecology, environment, relationship, belonging and responsibility workshop time. On 31st July, Guru Purnima day, the months learning was celebrated with each class making a part of a huge rakhi, depicting what they are ready to love, care for, not harm in any way and be fully responsible for farm animals and pets, wild animals, no to plastics, healthy me and no no no to junk food.

if I don’t take responsibility for conserving water, for planting trees then my future is bleak like this barren earth with land slides and acid rains.

All the rakhis were sewn together to make this very huge rakhi in readiness for Raksha Bandhan declaring joint responsibility.

Singing plantation songs, chanting Sanskrit shlokas, picking neem tree seeds and saplings and learning to sow and transplant them.

Environment Day celebrated at Mothercare School 

31st July 2015 was celebrated as Environment Day at Mothercare School. Kids have been working on and talking about this from the past fortnight and will continue doing various activities till September.Save Mother Earth, save cows or no milk, curd, lassi, buttermilk, cheese, chocolate, ice cream, burfi.

Say no to plastics. Play group kids learning to make paper bags. They will then see that plastic is not used at home. Learning to feel responsible.

Make the Earth green. Let mother Earth smile, let it breathe. Plant trees, grow fruits and vegetables.

Stay healthy eat wise. No junk food, no cokes, no pizzas, no burgers, no Maggi, no chips. This is the work and learning of Sr.Play group B kids.

Global warming, Air pollution, Breathing problems, diseases, acid rain. Do what you can. Prevent all this. No smoke, no gas emissions, use car pools and save fuel.

All these and many more pieces were sown together to make a huge Rakhi on 31st.

Mothercare School, Lucknow, Neem Plant Bank 

Starting early, our Toddlers learning to pick neem seeds, helping prepare the beds and sow them. They will watch them sprout, see the sapling grow under their care. Of course that will only happen when they water them, tend to them with love and responsibility. Mothercare School Neem Plant Bank is a gift from our children to the city of Lucknow. All this is part of our workshop on Environment and Ecology conducted in July, August and September with varied kinds of associated activities.
